Love the PA wild! The PGC needs to timber more of the game lands. That's why there were so many deer in the 60s and 70s, it was new growth. Now the overwhelming majority is standing big timber, no browse no deer, or other wildlife.

I had the honor of meeting Dr Alt in the 1990's when he was working in Hemlock Farms Pike County with the Black Bear population. I was on a few bear Tagging & aging calls he did and along with myself my very young children had the opportunity to see, learn and feel Black Bears up close. It was a time we all still remember & treasure! We learned from the best! Thank you Dr Alt for giving us all memories we will always treasure! ❤❤❤

in the past i think the game commission helped get rid of some animals and probably most likely got rid of some bugs in certain areas in pennsylvania in the past and probably most likely might try it again maybe. it happenned cause some guys scared of the creatures or were gonna be scared. guys still get scared of creatures. guys act tough but they aint. even if they learn how to fight they definetly are scared of prison. thats why they found a way of not being able to get arrested cause they figured that if they cant get arrested they cant go to prison. im pretty sure i got my reasons why and believe me they wont admit it. they are annoying to say the least. and they enjoy it. and they figured i wouldnt figure it out ever but i did. and i got a house Mouse and a pet store Rat that run around the house and do what they want all day and night. i got plans for them to go inside and outside whhenever they feel like it. my friend thats a Girl that lives here also wants a Cat. when She gets a Cat i will make sure they all get along. they will.

I enjoyed this presentation and learned a lot. There's a Latham fence as you guys call them in our local state forest (Tuscarora) and my wife and I were just up there talking about it, wondering what it was all about. We knew it was to keep deer out but didn't understand why. I'm puzzled though by this presentation explaining the benefits of creating these small and easy to access trees and shrubs and stuff that the deer can eat and benefit from but we keep them out of there so they are just going to get tall and not accessible to the deer? I don't quite understand the importance of doing this if we keep them out of it. Can someone please explain this?

Time to limit non resident elk tags

What they should make a change to is the Elk Draw. There should be some perk for residents. Any other state offers perks for there residents. When it comes to Pa there is no perk for there residents for the elk draw.

I’m ok with the current set up except for being penalized for being a non resident. Just b/c I unfortunately HAVE to live out of state b/c of my employment, as much as I want to live in PA, its not an option.

Shouldn’t be a “draw” for residents at all for doe tags, if there isn’t tags left for out of state hunters so be it and it should be the same with the elk hunting, non residents shouldn’t be allowed to apply for elk tags until the population is large enough for all residents can get tags if they want one. I understand that will take a long time or never but there are plenty of other states that have similar regs for non residents with different species. Too many years to count I couldn’t get more than one doe tag in 3A or 2G because of the way the system is setup.
